Major research projects at the University of Graz

The University of Graz sees itself as a university of natural sciences, social sciences as well as social and economic sciences, which ensures an appropriate positioning at the location in the canon with the other educational institutions, especially the three other universities in Graz.

The University of Graz conducts basic and applied research, taking into account the needs of society. In doing so, diversity of topics and methods is made possible. The university promotes high-quality research. Research foci are formed in core areas of the scientific disciplines and research is anchored in the international - especially European - research area. In the sense of research-guided teaching, students are involved in research. In this way, the knowledge generated by university research and the research results are actively made available to society.
